Hours before R&B singer HOWARD HEWETT, took the stage to perform for THOUSANDS of fans in San Diego, along with Frankie Beverly and Maze and the Whispers, Celebrity Author and Pie Baker TOI MOORE, met up with him and hand delivered her famous and delicious Peach and Apple Cobblers, and Sweet Potato Pies.
“I’m sitting here in my hotel room in Lagos, Nigeria…just finished my show…winding down…and just started thinking about things that have made me smile recently…one of the thoughts that came to mind was when I saw Toi and Greg at the Men Of Soul Show in Riverside, CA. Toi started talking to me about her pies and I said “Girl, you can’t make no Peach Cobbler!!!” She took my mailing address and said that she was gonna send me a pie in the mail…!! About a week later I got a package with a Peach Cobbler pie packed in dry ice….I took it home and put it in the oven to warm it up, then cut into it…!!!! And when I took the first bite…a big smile came across my face…Peach Cobbler Pie is my favorite…and this was perfect! The crust flaked off in a perfect way…see, crust can make or break a pie…and this crust made it!! The filling was perfectly sweetened…peaches weren’t too mushy…and not too firm either!!
